Paducah International Raceway
Paducah, Ky
|
Track Description: The PIR track is located convenient to I-24 to the eastern side of Paducah. The track is a high-banked, 3/8 mile stock-car oval. This track rides more like a half-mile than a short track. It is a fourth or fifth gear affair with speeds calculated to be as high as 80 mph for the big bikes. The track is clay. The infield contains an internal loop with jumps to form the TT portion of the program. Both outer and inner loops are used for the TT course so it makes for a big track. There is a major elevated grandstand on the main straightaway. Grandstand visibility is excellent. A concrete retaining wall surrounds the track but with the extremely wide stock-car lanes, few haybales are required. There are a limited number of water and electricity hookups for RV’s. There are permanent and portable restroom areas. There is an operating concession stand. Entrance roads are paved. Pit areas are gravel. |
