Faulkner Flies
By Bobby Lewis

Dean Faulkner was on the gas tonight in Smithland and took wins in two classes. Faulkner topped the combined vintage final with a perfect start and took a convincing win over Nathanel Curnel and J.T. Wood. Faulkner had a little tougher time in the Vet Class but kept his cool and held on for the win after a race-long battle with Gene Yopp. Ed Heiden would put his VOR into third over Tony Graham and David Brown.

Yopp would take the top spot in the 40+ final after holding off Ed Clark and Brown. Yopp would return once more in the Stock XR100 class but had to settle for third.

TT winner Jesse Hodge held the point in the short track main but couldn’t hold off a hard charging April Ladd and had to settle for second. Sean Smith held on for fourth over Steve Parrish.

Stevie Nace and Dakota Simmons-Brown scrapped over the lead in the Mad Dog class with Nace at the front when it counted over Simmons and Aaron Ladd. Simmons came back to win the TT final after a race long battle with Ladd and Nace.

Simmons carded another second in the 250cc Amateur short track after chasing winner Tony Graham for eight laps. 200cc Amateur winner Erhardt Heisner would follow them for third.

Jonathan Heiden was moving fast once again in the 85cc class. He used perfect starts to start his way to wins in both races. Brother Mike Heiden would chase him to the flag in each race.

Jake Lewis would ride to third in the short track over Cody Brown and Jess Taber with Brown taking third in the TT over Lewis and Taber. Jonathan would win a close on the oval over Justin Hanna in the 200cc Pro-Am main with Mike third. Hanna would take the Open Pro-Am win and Heiden’s dad Ed would top the Vets in TT action.

Lewis would sweep the 50cc Chain and 65cc classes. Mick McFadden swept the 50cc Shaft class as did Tyler Porter in the Open Amateurs.
