West KY Dirt Track Series Allison Aces PIR Marty Allison came out of a four rider dogfight to win the Vet class tonight at Paducah’s 3/8 short track. Gene Yopp led the class down the backstretch on the initial lap with Allison, Ed Clark and Steve Nace chasing three abreast. Clark had the strongest moves for two laps until Allison moved to the point on lap three. Nace moved up to challenge and they took it to the wire with Allison leading by a bike length over Nace, Clark and Yopp.
Nace and Allison went at it again in the Senior class with Nace’s high line paying off as he returned the favor nipping Allison at the finish. Clark led Yopp once again for third over David Brown and Curt Corner.
Yopp led the way on the TT in the Senior class while Comer rung out his 125 to place a strong second over Brown.
Aaron Ladd outclassed the competition by racing away to big leads in both the Open Pro and Pro-Am divisions. Cody Bowland would land the runner-up slot on the short track over TT second place rider Chris Fristoe.

April Ladd took convincing wins in the stock XR100 class leading Alan Asher and Wendy Maccoll on the oval and Brett Neville and Maccoll on the TT. Luke Baird swept the 50 automatics with runs over Jacob Morris and Destiny Ham each time. Morris did likewise in the chain division. The 65, 85 and 200 classes were controlled by Jake Lewis. He led Evan Fields and Neville in the 65 ranks each time out. In the 85cc field Blake Tabor and Nikki Spore jockeyed for second with Tabor taking the spot on the short track and Spore on the TT. Cody Brown and Nathaniel Vowell swapped spots on the track with Vowell filling the fourth position on the TT. Lewis led Spore and Tabor in the Pro-Am ranks and the 200cc short track but a fall late in the 200cc TT saw Tabor hold off the last lap charge of Vowell to take the win. |
