West KY Dirt Track Series PIR Perfection Jason Goodwin and Jake Lewis were in control tonight of Paducah’s PIR short track as Goodwin won both the Open Pro and Pro-Am classes while Lewis swept the 65, 85, 200 and 200 Pro-Am fields.
Goodwin led the Pro-Am class off of turn two and distanced himself from the field. Aaron Ladd was a safe second while Chris Fristoe held Stevie Nace for third.
Ladd held the early lead in the Pro main before Goodwin took the point on lap two. Goodwin started to pull a gap but the red flag resulted in a single file, four lap dash. Ladd got a good jump and took the lead but it only lasted a lap as Goodwin took an inside move for the front position and held it to the flag. Ladd was a solid second with Dean Faulkner nipping Bill Gruwell for third. Fristoe rounded out the top five over Jeremy Anderson.

Ladd caught fire in the TT and routed the file with only Fristoe able to keep pace as they ran 1-2. 250cc Pro winner Dakota Simmons slipped in to third past Goodwin on the last lap with Nace rounding out the top five. Lewis nailed eight straight hole-shots and gapped the field each time out. Blake Tabor came through the field to finish second on the 85cc short track after a race long dice with Nikki Spore, Brett Neville and Nathaniel Vowell. Marty Allison was in fine form as he doubled up by taking wins in both the Senior and 70 Singles classes. Dean Faulkner ran him hard to finish a close second on the Singles while Jeff Jones held on for third over Nathan Curnel and H. W. Boye. Luke Baird, Nick McFadden and April Ladd all scored wins in both the heat and main in their respective classes. |
