Faulkner Finds the Top
By Bobby Lewis

John Faulkner took the Open Pro cash tonight by taking the highest line ever rode on the high-banked oval at PIR.

Faulkner warmed up by running a close second behind Pro-Am winner Chase Sconyers in a tight battle with Aaron Ladd who ran to third. Jon Goodwin led Justin Hanna and Frankie Lee Gillim across for fourth.

Ladd would take the point in the Pro class final with Sconyers and Hanna trailing. On lap two Faulkner had his TL-1000 Suzuki howling. He had run from the back to close on the leaders, but was having a hard time getting turned. He ran higher and higher up the banking and took the lead at the halfway mark.

Faulkner never backed off and cruised away for the win. Sconyers moved underneath Ladd to take second with Hanna, Goodwin, Rod Hartzel and Dean Faulkner finishing in order.

Ladd returned later in the night to sweep the TT finals. Van Rayburn swept the Senior TT with ease but had to work hard in the short track to hold off Ed Clark and Gene Yopp for the win. Steve Parrish and Skeeter Williams rounded out the top five.

Hunter Abernathy never lifted on the throttle en-route to the 50cc shaft class win over Luke Baird and Abby Pittman.

The 65cc, 85cc and 200cc short tracks were all won by Hayden Gillim. Hayden held off for a close win over Ethan Gillim in the 65cc final and then held off charges by Jake Lewis in the remainder. Colby Chandler would run to third each time out.

Lewis came back to sweep all the TT finals with Chandler holding the runner-up spot in the 85-200 ranks.

Tracy Gibbs hold off a late race charge by Frankie Lee Gillim to win the 250cc Amateur class while Nathaniel Vowell topped Blake Tabor by a wheel in Open Trailrider.
