Hayden's House
By Bobby Lewis

The Kentucky Dirttrack Series arrived in Owensboro tonight for a mid-week race under the fair lights. The local spectators had plenty to cheer about as the hometown riders dominated most of the classes. The most successful was Hayden Gillim as he romped to several class wins on the short track and TT.

Hayden was unbeaten in the 200cc Pro-Am class taking a tight TT win over Frankie Lee Gillim. The short track carded him another win over Robert Wright, Frankie Lee and Kraig Hall.

He was just as dominant in the 85cc ranks as he topped Frankie Lee for close wins in each. Jake Lewis rounded out the top three in the short track with Cambron Baker holding off Ethan Gillim for fourth. Ethan moved into third on the TT over Baker and Lewis.

Hayden ripped another hole shot to run off with the 65cc short track win over Frankie Lee while Ethan pulled to third completing the family sweep. Lewis, Ryan Pate and Levi Mayer were the next across the line.

Frankie Lee got the start he needed in the 65cc TT and appeared to be getting away from the field but was reeled in by Hayden setting up a last lap battle. Frankie Lee never bobbled to win by a wheel. Lewis was a secure third over Ethan, Pate and Mayer.

Nick McFadden controlled the 50cc Shaft class topping Jacob Morris, Vance Adamson and Lexie Bealmar with runway wins each time out.

Mark Hall pulled the lead in the Trailrider short track class and held off the constant pressure of Tracy Gibbs to earn the win. TT winner Bill Agnew finished third over Tasha Rayburn.

Aaron Ladd was unstoppable in the Open classes taking wins in the Pro class over Kyle Kelly and Jason Goodwin, and Kelly in the Pro-Am.

Dakota Simmons scored wins in the 250cc Amateur classes and Mad Dog short track while Lewis swept both divisions of the 50cc chain class.

Other local fast guys taking wins were Rob Lampkin in the Open Amateur classes and Brian Hayden on the TT in the Mad Dog and Stock XR100 classes.

Illinois rider Dallas Mayer put the Vet class short track win in the bag over Gene Yopp and Ed Clark then proceeded to pull the hole shot in the Senior final. Midway through the race Van Rayburn jammed by for the lead but it only lasted a lap as Mayer returned the favor and held on for a close win. Yopp would lead Clark and Bill Zentmyer for third.
