West KY Dirt Track Series Tabor Tops Marion A rain-delayed start did not dampen the racing action tonight and produced a picture perfect surface that offered multiple lines. Blake Tabor was in the throttle as he pulled away from the field to top the Trail Rider short track. Chris Woodall finished in the runner-up slot after dicing with James Finnell, Matt Jones and Lee Boone.
Tabor found himself in front of the TT also but had a tougher time holding off Nathaniel Vowell for the win. Finnell was third once again.
April Ladd led the family romp with solid wins in the Stock XR100 classes. She built an early lead each time with Kelly Bell settling into second on the Short track while Alan Asher worked into third past Brett Neville and Wendy Maccoll on the TT. Austin Zentmyer ran a solid second while Neville moved to third dropping Bell to fourth over Maccoll.
Mike Ladd hole-shot the Senior short track final and disappeared leaving the field to battle for second. Ed Clark came through the pack to nail down the spot over Vintage winner Skeeter Williams, TT winner Kelly Klynstra, Clyde Modlin and Randy Taylor.

Aaron Ladd topped both the Pro-Am mains holding off serious challenges from Chris Fristoe on every lap. Mad Dog winner Stevie Nace was third each time over 250cc Pro winner Dakota Simmons. Fristoe nailed the start in the Pro short track and kept his cool as he took a hard earned win over Ladd and Bill Gruwell. Gruwell returned to take the Vet win over 70 Singles winner Dean Faulkner, Clark, Klynstra and Taylor. Jake Lewis brought his A game as he hole-shot the 65cc, 85cc, 200 and 200 Pro-Am mains. He rode on to large wins in both the Short Track and TT. On the 65cc short track Nick McFadden settled into a safe second at the halfway mark as Evan Fields held off 50cc shaft winner Jacob Morris for third. Zentmyer and Neville filled in the order. Neville adapted to the TT better as he moved into second holding off McFadden, Morris and Fields at the flag. Vowell would hold off Tabor for second in the 85 short track while Nikki Spore and Adam Larsen rounded out the grid. |
