West KY Dirttrack Series Yopp on Top Gene Yopp was in top form tonight as the Ky. Dirttrack Series returned to Marion, Ky. Dennis Porter nailed the start as the Senior class hit turn one. Porter led the way with Yopp looking for an opening in second. The chance came with Yopp going to the inside and taking the lead with two laps to go. Yopp then stayed on the groove to take the win over Porter and Dave Brown.
Yopp remounted to take on the Vet class also and was the runner-up over class winner Bill Gruwell. Dean Faulkner was a tight third over Brown. Faulkner and Porter also recorded wins in the 70 singles and Light Vintage classes.
Nick McFadden used hole-shots to power away in the 50cc Automatic classes in both the short track and TT. Jacob Morris gated in second and held the spot at the checkered flag each time.

Travis Zapfe had to earn third the hard way as he came from the back of the pack each time out. Luke Baird, Dylan Douglas, Vance Adamson and Kevin Neal finished the running order.
Jake Lewis took dominating wins in the 50cc chain and 65cc ranks before grabbing the lead and eventual win in the 85cc TT final. He kept Jonathan Heiden at bay for the eight laps as they distanced themselves from the field. Nikki Spore came through to grab fourth from Cody Brown.
Heiden followed Patrick Pyle to second in the 200cc Pro-Am class before powering away for the 85cc short track win. Spore passed Lewis for second with Brown fourth.
Aaron Ladd and Tyler Porter hooked up in the Open class with Ladd getting the win each time out.
Dakota Simmons topped the Mad Dog and 250cc Amateur classes with Bill Agnew a three-time winner on the night. Matt Paterson, Scotty Steinwagner and April Ladd had good rides recording class wins also.
