Ladd Breaks Out

Racing returned after the Christmas break to Greenville tonight with 122 riders on hand. The small oval was extremely slick and brought some exciting racing along with a large share of crashes. Aaron Ladd proved to have the steadiest throttle hand and was the first rider to post multiple wins in the Pro Class for the series. With a holeshot paying big dividends Ladd went to the front of the Pro main and never bobbled holding off the early charge of Travis Sprong before easing away to a comfortable win. Sprong held on for second by a wheel over Kevin Snyder, Coty Bowland and Kyle Snyder. Joel Brown was next in line over Spencer Rose and Jeff Landrum. Ladd did a repeat in the Pro-Am main leaving Kevin to hold off Kyle for the runner-up spot. Stevie Nace rode to fourth past Sprong and Landrum. Kyle Snyder was unstoppable in the Maddog classes with a pair of wins. He easily topped the TT but had his hands full with Nathaniel Vowell as the pair gapped the field. Austin Zentmyer held off Bowland for third as Landrum and Cathie Velotta rounded out the field. Zentmyer would return to sweep the stock class. Robert Sheppard topped the Senior class and then kept his cool on the bottom of the track to squeak out the win in the Open Amateur main. He was glued better than any rider on the night and took the win over Nace, Colby Chandler, Adam Cobb and Michael Sinnott. Chandler looked strong on the short track with a pair of convincing wins but had to settle for second in the TT behind hard riding Adam Cobb. Hayden Gillim swept the 200cc short tracks and took wins in the 85 and 200 Amateur TT. Gillim made it a six pack win with romps in the 160 classes. Jake Lewis carded wins in the 200cc Pro-Am TT, 85cc short track and a pair of 65cc class wins. Jarrett Naas was the big winner of the 50cc shaft class as he took a pair of wins over Jake Harley and Carson Land.
