Western KY Indoor Dirt Track Series Ladd Maxi’s Out The final round of the Kentucky Indoor Series arrived tonight and saw Aaron Ladd claim the top honors in all his classes. Ladd went to the front of the Open Pro TT and never looked back on his way to a convincing win over Eldred Bristol and Nicole Cheza.
Ladd did an instant replay in the Pro-Am and Pro class short tracks by nailing both hole-shots and creeping away from runner-up Mike Hacker in each event. Billy Gruwell jammed into third in the Pro ranks holding off Bristol, Cheza and Michael Evilsizer for the spot. Ladd’s Open Pro win secured his high point tally on the year and netted a free pair of leathers courtesy of Steve Nace Racing, Fast Plates and Max Leathers.
The remainder of the Ladd racing team fared well also, as Mike Ladd made easy work of the Senior class on the short track. Super Senior winner Dennis Porter held off Chris Grissom, Ed Clark and David Allen for the runner-up spot.

April Ladd carried the checkers after wins on the night came in the Women’s TT and was a close second in the XR100 and Women’s classes. Her third win on the night came in the Women’s TT and was a close second in the XR100 TT to winner Scott Larm. Larm would also pull Mad Dog duty, but was no match for Stevie Nace as he swept both divisions along with wins in the 250cc Pro and Open Pro-Am TT’s. The 200cc finals all belonged to Jeff Carver who rode as if on rails. Carver tallied wins in short track and TT in both the Amateur and Pro-Am mains. Michael Johnson was the only rider to keep him in check as he scored a trio of runner-up spots. Carver led the way in the 85cc TT also with Johnson taking a narrow victory in the short track. Nick McFadden was near perfect in the 50cc division winning both shaft class and the chain drive TT. A slop in the chain short track saw Ethan Gillim top the standings. Andrew Johnson chased Jake Lewis in the short track and was there to take advantage of a last turn mishap to score the 65cc short track win. |
