Rnd 2, W KY Indoor Dirt Track Series Johnson Triples
Michael Johnson used a potent Honda to record several wins tonight in Greenville at Round 2 of the KY Dirt Track Series. Johnson survived two restarts on the 85cc short track to lead the third try and hold off Hayden Gillim at the line for the win. Frankie Lee Gillim was a safe third while Zeb Van Winkle nipped Jake Lewis for fourth.
Johnson led the 200cc Amateur final next and kept Hayden back to record another close win over Hayden, Frankie Lee and Nathaniel Vowell.
Johnson's final win came in the 200cc Amateur TT where he gated perfectly again and swept the field. Frankie Lee bettered Hayden for second with Vowell fourth.
Erhardt Heisner went to the front of the 200cc Pro-Am main and never hobbled despite constant pressure from Johnson.
Heisner also hole-shot the TT but could not hold off Hayden as he slid into the lead and eventual win. Heisner held on for second over Johnson, Frankie Lee and Pyle.
Jake Lewis hole-shot the 85cc TT and held the pace holding off Johnson for the win. Frankie Lee took third by a wheel over Hayden while Payton Sassaman filled in the top five over Nikki Spore and Vowell.
Lewis also nailed the 65cc TT main and kept Hayden back to take a close win. Neil Dalton was a safe third over Blake Tabor and Evan Fields.
Hayden went to the front of the 65cc short track as Lewis worked into second past Dalton and Tabor. Hayden slipped down at the halfway mark while Lewis cruised to his third win over Dalton, Tabor and Kole King. Hayden remounted for fifth over Trent Sheppard, Robby Hill and Fields.
Nick McFadden also went for three wins as he swept the 50cc chain ranks. He hole-shot both short track and TT events and rode to wins in each over Jacob Morris, King. Molly Terry and Zach Wilson.

McFadden also took the 50cc shaft oval over Morris, Luke Baird, Colton Lucas and Wilson.
Morris would return the favor with a win on the TT over McFadden, Baird and Terry.
Stevie Nace swept the Mad Dog class with comfortable wins in each event. Coy Matthews followed him to the flag each time in second with David King and Don Fulton following on the TT. Kevin Hilbert filed into third on the short track after a race long duel with King, Jeff Jones, Fulton and Rick Hubert.
King would return to win the Stock 100cc class each time out.
Rod Hartzel continued to impress with a wire-to-wire run in the Open Pro final. Bill Gruwell tried the outside line to find a way past until Aaron Ladd moved him into third. John Faulkner jammed his way into fourth past Jason Goodwin, Matthews and Charlie Southgate.
Goodwin nailed the start of the Pro-Am main and started a run on Ladd, Justin Hanna, and Nace. Kyle Kelly slid into the wall and brought out the red flag late in the race and it was called complete. Cody Bowland filled in the top five over Tyler Porter and Brett Sassaman.
Porter would get focused to win the 250cc Pro short track after a race-long battle with Hanna and Nace.
Nace would make the 250cc TT his third win on the night over Hanna, Porter and Allen Hammond.
Hanna would take the top spot in the Open Pro-Am TT.
Hartzel would rip the 40+ class before matching up with Gruwell again in the Vet class where Gruwell held on for the win. Open Amateur v/inner Peter Sheppard was third over Southgate, Faulkner and Gene Yopp
