Ladd, Hanna Hang 'Em Out
By Bobby Lewis

The season’s first half mile went off today on the deep cushion surface of the Greenville fairgrounds. Illinois rider Aaron Ladd took the lion’s share of the money home as he swept all three classes he entered.

Ladd’s first victory came in the 450-Pro class as he nailed the start and inched away, as Shane Vance held off Kevin Snyder and Jason Goodwin for second. Jon Goodwin got the better of Ben Morton for fifth position with Trevor Augenstein and Wade Wessels, next to finish.

505-Pro heat winner Nick Evans expired with a broken machine as Ladd went to the front of this division. Kurt Boehlke was a solid second over Jason Goodwin, Chris Shindeideoker and Snyder.

Ladd went to the front of the Open-Pro final bringing Boehlke with him as they would run 1-2 once again. Vance was a strong third as Andy Goodwin battled the spray for fourth over Morton, Jon Goodwin and Darren Carter.

Justin Hanna was just as impressive in the Amateur ranks as he won both the heats and mains in the Open Amateur and Open Pro-Am classes. Colt Chebultz ran him hard both times but had to settle for a safe second. Kyle Snyder and Jeff Carver swapped positions for the third spot in each class topping Colby Chandler, Chaz Landers and lance Kent.

Carver returned to destroy the 200cc Pro-Am class by taking the win by a straightaway. 200 cc Amateur winner Jonathan Heiden was second as Ethan Gillim moved into third over Michael Heiden, Frankie Lee Gillim, Nikki Spore and Levi Mayer.

Ethan also swept the 65 cc and 85 cc ranks in impressive fashion.

Scott Shin improved on his heat race to win a close battle with John Faulkner in the Vet class. Tony Watkins had a good ride for third over Dean Faulkner, Dallas Mayer, Mike Dunaway, Dan Reichert and Mike Stanfield.

Faulkner returned to sweep the 40 plus with wins in both the heat and main as did Terry Bond in the Super Senior division.
