KY Dirt Track Series Goodwin Gone Again Racing on the half mile returned today after a rainout Saturday night. More rain on Sunday morning saw a large contingent of riders leave, but promoter Steve Nace stayed with it and produced a picture perfect surface despite the muddy pits.
Jason Goodwin picked up where he left Friday night, at the front of the Open Pro main. Aaron Ladd and Goodwin took turns passing for the lead until lap three when Goodwin jumped to the bottom of the track to make the final pass stick. Ladd tried to reel the leader back in but came up a bit short and settled for second. Jon Goodwin broke from the remainder of the field to run a lonely third while Dean Faulkner held off Jeremy Anderson, Kyle Naliborski and Justin Hanna.
Hanna nailed the hole shot in the 250 Pro class and jetted away to a straightaway lead leaving Tyler Porter to hold off Stevie Nace and Dakota Simmons.

Hanna then led the Pro-Am class through turn one but was gobbled up by Ladd, Jon and Andy Goodwin. Ladd looked strong and took the win over a closing Jon Goodwin. Andy held on for third over Hanna, Naliborski, Cody Bowland and Nace. The remainder of the Ladd family fared well also as Mike Ladd took a runaway win over Steve Nace and Gene Yopp in the Senior class and April Ladd continued to dominate the Stock SR 100’s. Jake Lewis came from deep in the field to win the 85, 200 and 200 Pro-Am finals catching Colby Chandler late in each event. Nikki Spore was the third place rider holding off Nathaniel Vowell and Blake Tabor. Vowell found the winning line en-route to the Trail rider class win over Tabor with Brian Doom just nipping David Morris for third. Terry Goodwin kept Jim Monegan in check early before Monegan slid away to the win over Goodwin and Steve Nace. |
