Faulkner Takes Finale
By Bobby Lewis

The KY dirt track series opened tonight on the high-banked 3/8 mile combined with an infield TT. The regularly scheduled new short track not yet completed, saw the riders battle on the familiar large oval.

Jake Lewis was right at home and dominated the 65, 85 and 200 classes with hole-shots that developed into straightaway wins each time out. Evan Fields came out of a four-rider fight to put in a good ride for second in the 65 cc short track beating out Molly Terry, Nick McFadden and Jacob Morris to the flag.

McFadden fared better on the TT as he sweep the 50 cc chain class and finished a solid second in the 65 class over Morris, Fields, Terry and Mason Woley.

Levi Mayer chased Luis for second in each 85 cc event for a solid second while Ricky Leak moved into third past Hayden Granda, Brett Neville, Terry and Fields.

Nikki Spore out gunned Nathaniel Vowell for the runner-up spot in the 200 cc Pro-Am short track with Weston Adams nipping Levi Mayer for fourth. Spore put her machine in the front of the Mad Dog short track and took a convincing win over Dakota Simmons, Leak and Jocelyn Glass.

Justin Hanna dominated the Open Amateur and Pro-Am classes with wins each time out. He enjoyed large leads in all but the Pro-Am TT where a last lap, last corner drive enabled him to eke by Stevie Nace at the line.

Nace would return to hammer the Mad Dogs in theTT.

Aaron Ladd would sweep the Open-Pro classes ran with the Seniors due to the small Open class turnout.

John Faulkner would take top honors in the Vet and Senior classes leading Dallas Mayer and Marty Allison in the Senior division. Dean Faulkner, Mayer and Mike Dunaway followed in the Vet class.

The ride of the day came from Mike Anderson as the Super Senior rider put in an excellent ride to come from the back of the pack to win his class and close on Faulkner in the combined class.
