Kentucky Indoor Dirt Track Series: Round 7 Round 7 An extremely good rider count and an excellently prepared track saw some of the best racing of the winter take place at Du Quoin tonight. Aaron King gassed it up to numerous wins starting with a sweep of the 450cc-Pro class. King left Travis Sprong to hold off Brad Furlong for second on the TT as he built up a good- sized gap.
In the short track King battled briefly with Aaron Ladd before slipping away to another convincing win. Jason Goodwin slid past Tyler Shepard late in the race for third with Furlong filling in the top five over Sprong, Ben Evans and Clint Collier.
King took control of the 12 rider 505-Pro short track and held back Ladd for the win. Kevin Snyder and Goodwin sparred to the next spots over Furlong and Rob Pearson.
Furlong nailed the lead of the TT and kept on the bottom of the groove to take the win in a freight train over King, Ladd, Sprong and Collier.
Pearson was ready at the green light and led the Open-Pro class into turn one. He built a lead every lap and took an uncontested win. The last lap was a good one as Goodwin moved past Snyder to nail second and Ladd got underneath King for fourth. Shepard moved into sixth past Furlong, Dean Faulkner, Collier, Sprong and John Faulkner.

Snyder found the needed start in the TT to score the close win over Ladd. The Faulkner brothers went at it in the Vet final with Dean leading the lap that counted holding John to second. Dallas Mayer put in a good ride to fend off Snyder and Bill Gruwell for third. Mayer returned to go on a tear reeling off wins in the Vet and Senior TT’s along with the 70 Singles, Heavy Vintage and Senior class short tracks. Ian Keith nailed the start of the double- row 85cc short track and held off 65cc winner Jake Lewis to take the win. Frankie Lee Gillim got the nod for third over Levi Mayer and Hayden Gillim. Ethan Gillim was the next rider across ahead of Adam Camp, Blake Tabor and Hayden Granda. Hayden Gillim took the point on the TT over Lewis. Hayden and Lewis hooked up in the 200cc Pro-Am short track and swapped the lead repeatedly with Hayden leading at the checkers over Lewis and Keith. Erhardt Heisner came through traffic to finish fourth over Kyle Snyder, Frankie Lee, Nathaniel Vowell, Mayer, Danny Didiuk, Steven Hedges and Nikki Spore. Robert Hall topped the 50cc automatics while Jacob Morris pulled a sweep in the 50cc chain ranks. |
