Another Clinton Affair
By Bobby Lewis

No not that guy! This was the annual Short Track/TT at Clinton, Kentucky’s county fair.

The Ladd family came out firing as April Ladd swept the stock XR100 class in both events. The women faired well as Ladd led Kelly Bell for the win with Alan Asher a close third over David Asher.

Aaron Ladd then hole shot both the Open Pro and Pro-Am mains and kept Bill Gruwell back for the wins.

Gruwell led the Vet class into turn one and took off for the win leaving Senior class winner Gene Yopp to fend off Dean Faulkner and Marty Allison for second.

Stevie Nace swept the Mad Dog classes from 250 Pro winner Dakota Simmons while Jacob Morris topped both chain drive 50cc events and split the shaft drive division with Luke Baird.

Colby Chandler hole shot the 200cc Amateur TT and held off Jake Lewis at the wire to take the win. Nathaniel Vowell filled the podium. Lewis then went on a 7-race romp winning both the Short Track and TT’s in the 65cc, 85cc, 200cc Pro-Am and 200 Amateur Short track.

In the 65cc Short Track Brett Neville was a solid second while Evan Fields worked for third over Virgil Howell, Zachary Hutson and Brooke Kemp.

The 200 Pro-Am TT saw Chandler hold off a strong charge from Patrick Pyle to earn second while Stevie Nace worked through traffic to earn fourth. Nathaniel Vowell rounded out the top five over Nikki Spore and Simmons.

Pyle waited in second for Lewis to slip on the Short track while Chandler stuck a wheel underneath in third but the order never changed, Spore held off Simmons, Nace and Vowell for fourth.
