Porter Takes Charge
By Bobby Lewis

Dennis Porter recorded double class wins tonight as the Kentucky Dirt Track Series came into Bardwell. Porter's first win came in the Vet class. He fired his Basic Bike sponsored ATK into the lead and kept it on the narrow groove despite constant pressure from Dean Faulkner. Porter held firm to win by a bike length over Faulkner with Ed Clark a close third.

The Senior class found Porter up front with another perfect start with Clark hot on his heels. Porter never bobbled and held off Clark for the win. David Brown topped a race long battle with Don Duncan for third.

Patrick Pyle came out on top of a heated battle in the 200cc Pro-Am short track. He led every lap but Dakota Simmons and Jonathan Heiden each had a shot at the win. Pyle had a little easier time on the TT winning it easily over Simmons and Weston Adams.

Simmons and Stevie Nace would split wins in the Mad Dog classes with Simmons topping the short track and Nace the TT.

Nace led down the back straight of the Open-Pro main but it was all Aaron Ladd at the end of a lap. Ladd jetted away to the win with Nace a safe second. Faulkner closed the gap at the end to finish third with Kyle Kelly fourth.

Heiden took the point of the 85cc TT and cruised away taking an easy win. Nikki Spore and Weston Adams squabbled over second before Adams fell off with a lap to go. Spore finished a safe second over Michael Heiden while Jake Lewis made a last lap pass to fourth on Cody Brown.

Lewis took charge of the 85cc short track as he and Heiden split from the field. A red flag late in the race saw a single file restart with Heiden getting the lead and holding on to a close win over Lewis. Michael Heiden moved to third over Spore and Brown.

Lewis carded easy wins in each 65cc final.

Nick McFadden out-gunned Jacob Morris in both 50cc shaft and chain classes taking big margins to victory in all but the chain short track final. McFadden held off a last lap charge to win by a wheel.
