Anderson's Deal Aces
By Bobby Lewis

Racing returned to Smithland for the second time in three days during the fair. Riders found a wide groove that allowed for multi-line racing.

Mike Anderson had the hot hand as he nailed the hole shot in both the Mad Dog Short Track and TT to ride to big wins. Stevie Nace chased him home for second on the short track over Nikki Spore as Aaron Ladd led the stockers over Dean Faulkner and Colby Chandler.

Jeremy Anderson rode the top of the track to rail past Chandler enroute to the Open Amateur victory. Nathaniel Vowell was next to cross the line claiming the 250cc class over James Finnel.

Jake Lewis made a perfect run winning eight classes which included the 65cc, 85cc, 200cc Amateur and 200cc Pro-Am. Some good dicing for second in the 85cc class was claimed by Evan Fields each time out as he outgunned Nick McFadden and Brett Neville.

The best race of the night was the Open Pro-Am short track final. Hole shot artist Bill Gruwell led for two laps but had the heat on as Ladd and Jason Goodwin cut through the field to apply the pressure. Goodwin took the high line as Ladd jammed underneath to move Gruwell to third. Ladd never swayed from the bottom to earn the close win. Fourth place would go to Nace as he topped Coty Bowland, Faulkner and Dakota Simmons.
